About Dezorcy Honey
The hum of bees is the voice of the garden – Elizabeth Lawrence.
Hi, I'm Sophy.
Dezorcy is an old family name that traces back to Europe. In the 1600s, my ancestors immigrated to Quebec, Canada to start a new life as farmers. The story goes that the Dezorcy family grew flax on their land, but the soil wasn’t as fertile as their neighbours’. After years of struggle, the villagers began referring to them as the "Lincourt" family — which translates to “short flax.” The name stuck, and generations later, my father carries that name. I decided to revive Dezorcy — to honour my roots and carry forward the spirit of resilience that started it all.
How Dezorcy Honey Began
In 2015, I read that local honey could help with seasonal allergies. A close friend of mine had been suffering from them since we met in 2004, so I decided to give it a try. By eating local honey daily, his symptoms improved — and my curiosity turned into a calling.
That’s when I dove deeper into the world of bees, eventually completing the Master of Beekeeping Course at UBC. Beekeeping quickly became a passion — one filled with challenges (and a few bee stings), but also with incredible rewards: honey, beeswax, propolis, and pollen.
Our Sweet Mission
At Dezorcy Honey, every jar is crafted with care, curiosity, and respect for the bees that make it possible.

Let’s protect them together — avoid pesticides, plant bee-friendly gardens, and support local beekeepers.
Thank you for visiting my little corner of sweetness.
With gratitude,
Sophy
